With spring training coming to an end and the regular season just around the corner, I am very excited to announce the release of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball ’10 for iPhone and iPod touch – which complements the #1 free fantasy baseball game on the web from Yahoo! Sports.
The app gives you fast access to your leagues, teams, matchups, player stats, and real-time scores. Additionally, you edit your lineup – directly from your phone. So whether you are at the ballpark, or watching the game with some friends, you’ll have the edge to manage your team and win!
You can step up to the plate and get started today by creating or joining a league on your PC: http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com
The app is now available for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at: http://itunes.com/apps/yahoofantasybaseball10
Download it and let us know what you think! And, once you’ve tried out our app, check out our newly enhanced Sports search to do more research on your players at http://sports.search.yahoo.com/. More info is available on the Yahoo! Search Blog.”

How can I particpate in my leagues draft using my iPhone? It doesn’t look like this app supports the draft which is a real bummer

Mentioned on the front page of the fantasy baseball page is that it’ll have an add/drop feature. Will this feature be available sometime this year?

Might seem like a dumb question, but is one able to purchase this app on a blackberry or other smart phones?

Might seem like a dumb question but can this app be used on a blackberry or other smart phones?

i think this app looks nice initially, but its very limited. you can’t make any trades, cant add/drop anyone, seems like a fancy stattracker if anything. a step in the right direction though.

Is an app for the Droid in the works?

Are there plans for a mobile site akin to the one for fantasy football? Considering this app is free, not sure why you wouldn’t have developed that instead of leaving users on other platforms out in the cold.

@ Matt – you can participate in the draft via the PC. Check out http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/ for more information

For this Fantasy Baseball, we only have an iPhone App. However, we plan to support Android and Blackberry for future fantasy sport seasons.

Don’t forget about WebOS in your future plans. I know there aren’t a lot of us Palm Pre users out there, but there’s enough who would love this app.

I am also really surprised by how limited this app is. You can’t view much less write anything on the message board. You also can’t see any notes on your players. Worst of all you can’t look at the free agent player pool. I wish the would have cut back on making it look so nice and thought about what we need. I would definitely pay a couple of bucks for a mice upgrade.

I’ve been eagerly waiting for this app but it is very limited in what it can do. As of now there’s nothing this can’t do that the free myfantasyteams app does. That one actually does more. Is there going to be an update to allow picking up free agents, making trades and writing on the message board?

I think the app looks great! however, i think having the ability for add/drop and trade players is very important. Another very important item is missing the ability to tell will a player be in the starting lineup on a particular day. this would be very important on a day where everyone on my team has a game. One more thing is… perhaps having the ability to have different views when viewing the lineup would be a good idea. but having the first 2 items added to the app would be wonderful!

Not sure why blackberry is completely ignored even if nothing else but stat tracking or score checking which ever you prefer to call it. Seeing that blackberry still reps 44% of smart phones. I don’t even need a dedicated appn per say. Just the access online is all I ask. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement

I don’t understand why you have not created a mobile site for fantasy sports. This should have been done first. Every other fantasy sports website has had this for a while. Yahoo is severely lagging behind!

I’m shocked that there will NOT be an app for Android anytime soon. Believe it or not, being able to access my Yahoo fantasy teams is a criteria for cell phone selection. So iPhone wins by default…

You people are morons. icrap makes only apps they want to and only how they want to. The Android community is given the full code to the OS and is encouraged to write their own apps. So YES, Android will def have apps for every fantasy league and not just Yahoo. Wake up and smell the change people, Android is quickly becoming king. Now if you dopes would just start ditching Windows and *gasp* learn a Linux distro you could be dangerous.
That is all.

Hello All,
There is a new free fantasy football application available that allows user to manage their ESPN and Yahoo Leagues in one application. The web application can be found at http://www.huddlehub.com.
We just launched out V1 IPhone application. You can download it here http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/huddlehub-fantasy-football/id387973842?mt=8#
The Android version will be launching in the next week.
Organize, Play, Enjoy!

Now it’s time to sign up for 2011 fantasy leagues. Is a blackberry app ready? Are there plans to release one before or during the season?

As a league commisioner, it would be very helpful to have a way to access my league from my Blackberry smartphone. An application would be fantastic, but I would settle for a mobile version of the Yahoo Fantasy Baseball website. I do believe, however that it was a huge mistake to only make apps exclusive to iphones. Especially since ESPN Fantasy Sports are completely accessible from ANY smartphone browser. It may force people who would otherwise prefer to use Yahoo for their fantasy sports to switch to ESPN fantasy sports. Thanks.
